  • Another landmark for Ajman University

Each year in July, the QS World University Rankings publish a list known as the “Top 50 Under 50,” which further includes the top 150 universities under 50 years old, giving younger institutions a platform to showcase their capabilities.

Ajman University is once again listed, showing its commitment to the highest quality of education in the region. “I am incredibly proud that the hard-work and dedication of all the university’s stakeholders over the past two years ensure our place on such a reputable and significant ‘Top 150 Under 50’ list,” said Chancellor Karim Seghir. Ajman University is also ranked among the top 800 institutions worldwide, securing a position in the top 2.8% (globally) and the top 1.7% (regionally).

AU’s noteworthy landmarks have grown in recent times. Only a month earlier, in June, the 2020 QS World University Rankings (QSWUR) listed Ajman University as having the fourth most international faculty and the sixth most international student body, globally, recognizing its status as the first private university in the GCC and the first in the UAE to accept students from around the world.

The diverse student body at Ajman University say that they feel “a sense of belonging” in the UAE, considering it to be “a welcoming place” that offers “the best opportunity for higher education and to learn about multiple cultures.” Hence, the 2020 QS Best Student Cities ranks Dubai/Sharjah/Ajman as high as 60th in the world, along with the city of Brno in the Czech Republic.
